Redwood Light

I really like the lighting in this picture. I feel that the framing is a little off... as if perhaps the enormity of the trees, and the intensity of the visual effects could have been enhanced by including just a little bit more of the forest floor. Having been to the redwood national park, I know how awesome the trees are, but without something to give a sense of their size, I feel as if it misses out on calling attention to their size. But if the entire intent is not to emphasize the grandeur of the Redwood, but instead merely to capitalize on the awesome lighting and the play of light and dark, then this image is a success. A tremendous success. It is only my prior knowledge and experience of the Redwood that leads me to feel as though something is missing. Also I apologize, I am not at all an expert on critiquing others' art, but I loved this image so much, and saw the request, and wanted to share my thoughts.
